This Supported Hardware Policy explains which devices work best with CyberRST courses and services. Because our products are digital and delivered online, performance may vary depending on your device, operating system, and internet connection.
CyberRST - Supported Hardware
1. General Requirements
1.1 Most CyberRST informational pages and non‑LMS features can be accessed on modern computers, tablets, and mobile devices.
1.2 All general course content is delivered through the CyberRST Learning Management System (LMS). The LMS requires a modern computer (laptop or desktop) and is not supported on tablets or phones.
1.3 You are responsible for ensuring that your device meets the minimum requirements needed to access our courses and services.
2. Supported Operating Systems
2.1 The LMS supports current versions of Windows, macOS, and Linux.
2.2 Tablets and phones may access non‑LMS features but cannot run the LMS or its
course content.
2.3 Older or unsupported operating systems may work but are not officially supported.
3. Supported Browsers
3.1 CyberRST’s curriculum includes natively built‑in virtual machines (VMs) that require a modern web browser to function correctly.
3.2 The LMS and VMs work best on current versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox. However, as these browsers are updated by their owning companies, we cannot guarantee compatibility in the future.
3.3 Browsers that block essential scripts, cookies, or security features may prevent the LMS or VMs from functioning properly.
4. Hardware Performance Expectations
4.1 The LMS and built‑in VMs require a standard modern computer capable of running a current web browser without restrictions.
4.2 Some advanced labs or simulations may require additional processing power, memory, or storage.
4.3 Certain courses may require you to run standalone virtual machines on your computer using platforms such as UTM®, VirtualBox®, or similar virtualization software.
4.4 Your computer must support hardware virtualization features, such as Intel VT‑x® or AMD‑V®, to run standalone VMs effectively.
4.5 UTM® and VirtualBox® are registered programs and trademarks of their respective owners.
5. Unsupported Hardware
5.1 The LMS and built‑in VMs are not supported on tablets, phones, smart TVs, gaming consoles, or other non‑computer devices.
5.2 Standalone VMs cannot be run on tablets or phones and require a full desktop or laptop operating system.
5.3 CyberRST does not support devices that cannot run a modern web browser or virtualization software.
5.4 Devices no longer maintained by their manufacturer may not function properly.
6. Internet Requirements
6.1 A stable internet connection is required to access CyberRST courses, the LMS, and built‑in VMs.
6.2 High‑speed internet is recommended for video content and interactive labs.
6.3 CyberRST is not responsible for issues caused by slow, unstable, or restricted network connections.
7. Changes to Supported Hardware
7.1 CyberRST may update this Supported Hardware Policy as technology evolves.
7.2 When we update supported devices or requirements, the changes take effect immediately.
7.3 Continued use of the platform after updates means you accept the updated requirements.
